Therapeutic Massageworks PDX is a Native American owned business. Serena's tribal connection is to the Yakama Nation and Wasco tribes. She is proud to have worked in helping professions with social justice objectives. She has a BA in Spanish Literature and Liberal Studies from Portland State University, and was called to the work of massage therapy to help people understand the power their bodies hold to heal themselves through massage. Serena is drawn to modalities that bring warmth, movement, length, and elasticity to muscle groups. Her training includes both Eastern and Western techniques including Spa Therapies, Tuina, myofascial release, myofascial cupping, deep tissue work, and facilitated stretching.
